A seven-year-old Georgia boy was rushed to a local emergency room after he swallowed one of the AirPods he received for Christmas last week.
According to the Daily Mail, Kiara Stroud described her experience after her son, QJ, swallowed one of his AirPods while staying with his grandmother for the day. Stroud said her son was holding one of the headphones in his mouth when it accidentally went down his throat.
‘She was like, “Okay, so QJ just choked on his AirPod”, and I’m like what?’

Stroud described in a Facebook page how she “cried like a baby” while driving her USPS truck after learning the news from her mother. QJ’s x-ray results revealed the headset lodged under his ribcage at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston.
‘We actually saw it because it has metal in it, so we could see it in the X-ray and I’m like, “This boy really swallowed his AirPod!””

“She was like, “An AirPod? You know, it’s really unique. I never really heard of this,” and I’m like, “Yeah, it’s a wireless headset,” and she was just amazed. I’ve never seen anything like it,'”
The mother noted she didn’t scold her son for the mistake since he was already afraid of the possible outcomes. But doctors informed the family that they will let the AirPod remain in his body and it will come out naturally within a few days.
‘He was like, “Mom. I don’t want my phone,” because he got a phone for Christmas as well, and he’s like, “I don’t want to be near my phone. I don’t want it to connect to my phone and start playing music.” I’m like, “Oh my God.” He’s a crazy kid.’
