Boxing legend and NYC bar owner Jimmy Glenn has passed away after a long battle against the coronavirus. He was 89.
ABC News reports his youngest son Adam confirmed his father’s death in an email earlier this morning. He was also diagnosed with the coronavirus but survived but his father had an underlying health issue that worsened with the virus each day. Glenn was receiving treatment at the NYU Langone Medical Center and his family said on Wednesday he would recieve a convalescent plasma treatment since other medications were not working.

“His condition rapidly worsened overnight, and finally his body just did not have the strength to continue fighting,”

Adam said his father received support from the boxing community after revealing his diagnosis.
“My dad has so many people that loved him”
Glenn is most famous for training boxing champions such as Muhammad Ali and owning “Jimmy’s Corner” for 47 years, a popular bar located in New York City’s Times Square.
