The highly anticipated Prime Video series I’M A VIRGO held its Los Angeles premiere tonight with stars Jharrel Jerome, Brett Gray, Kara Young, Olivia Washington, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Kendrick Sampson and more in attendance at the Harmony Gold Theater.

I’m A Virgo is a darkly comedic fantastical coming-of-age joyride about Cootie (Jerome), a 13-foot-tall young Black man in Oakland, California. Having grown up hidden away, passing the time on a diet of comic books and TV shows, he escapes to experience the beauty and contradictions of the real world. He forms friendships, finds love, navigates awkward situations, and encounters his idol, a real-life superhero named The Hero, played by Walton Goggins (The Hateful EightThe Righteous Gemstones). I’m A Virgo is a mythical odyssey that questions the purpose of the fantastical odyssey.

I’m A Virgo is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Media Res Studio. Boots Riley and Tze Chun (Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai) are the series’ co-showrunners and serve as executive producers, alongside Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer for Media Res Studio (PachinkoThe Morning Show), Jharrel Jerome, and Rebecca Rivo. The series features original music and score by the art-pop duo Tune-Yards.

Riley proves once again that his multifaceted skills create a one-of-a-kind show that will entertain the audience worldwide. The clever almost-comic book style story leaves an impression and feeling after each episode. The episodes are beyond out of this world and have you feeling all of Cootie’s emotions and experiences. We have laughter, love, friendship, claustrophobia, loneliness, weirdness, death, social justice, and more wrapped up in a way that is not overwhelming but entertaining and thought-provoking.

The show is one hell of a ride and you can watch it on Prime now! Can we get a second season!
