As we previously shared, Boosie recently shared plans to recognize Wilson at his 6th annual Boosie Bash Festival held at Southern University. Boosie announced the launch of the Caleb Wilson Memorial Scholarship. He even claimed that Wilson’s father played a major role in helping plan the tribute.

However, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill quickly called cap on Boosie’s claims. She countered and said Wilson’s parents had zero knowledge of any scholarship. She also said the parents of the late student never signed off on Boosie using their son’s name in connection with his event. In a non-sugarcoated statement, AG Murrill said:

“Caleb Wilson’s parents have advised me that they have not given consent and know nothing about their son’s name and image being used to promote this event. They didn’t even know the event was happening. They have requested that his name, image, and any reference to a scholarship for him be removed from all promotional materials. I intend to take legal action due to their misappropriation of his name and image to promote their for-profit event. This is not a charitable event.”

On Monday (March 24), Boosie ended up firing back and called the move “the ultimate betrayal.” He took to X (formerly Twitter) and said:

“IT’S SAD FOR THIS LAWYER [AND]  FAMILY TO SAY I PROMOTED MY EVENT OFF SOMEONE’S PASSING!! MY EVENT WAS PROMOTED ON EVENTBRITE SINCE NOV 14. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED A WEEK BEFORE MY EVENT WAS TO TAKE PLACE!! HOW THE F**K CAN I CAPITALIZE OFF SOMEONE’S DEATH FOR A CONCERT? THAT AIN’T ME!! A DEATH OF A STUDENT WON’T HELP A CONCERT, IT WOULD HURT A CONCERT!!

I WAS ASK[ED] TO HELP THE SITUATION [AND] THAT’S WHAT I WAS DOING ONCE I MADE IT HOME. BUT FOR Y’ALL TO SAY THAT Y’ALL ARE TAKING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST SOMEONE WHO IS TRYING TO HELP Y’ALL, IS A SLAP N MY FACE [AND] COMPLETELY WRONG!! WHEN KEEPING IT REAL GOES WRONG. SMH. BR [BATON ROUGE] I’M DONE. ANOTHER MONEY GRAB!! THIS IS THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL. SMH.”

In a second tweet on Tuesday (March 25), he wrote:

“CAN SOMEONE FROM THAT FAMILY CALL ME? NO ONE IS TRYING TO GET US ON THE LINE. I’VE BEEN TRYIN[G] TO GET Y’ALL $20K SINCE IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION!! THE UNIVERSITY, NO ONE WANTS TO PUT US [IN] CONTACT!! THIS IS A F**KING SHAME HOW THEY DOING ME!! ATTORNEY GENERAL LIZ MURRAL, [YOU] CAN CALL ME TOO. THE REVENUE I BRING TO THE CAPITOL CITY IS UNMATCHED!! THE FUN [AND] EXCITEMENT IS UNMATCHED. NO VIOLENCE 6 YEARS IN A ROW AT MY EVENTS!! NOT EVEN A FIGHT IN A CITY THAT MURDERS EVERY WEEKEND.

INSTEAD OF TRYING TO BRING ME DOWN [AND] TAKE FROM ME, MAYBE Y’ALL SHOULD ALLOW ME TO BE PUT IN POSITIONS TO MAKE A CHANGE IN THE CITY. I’VE HEARD THAT THIS ATTORNEY GENERAL HAS A GRUDGE AGAINST RAPPERS. IF THAT IS THE CASE, [YOU] NEED TO SIT DOWN WITH ME [AND] TALK. I’M NOT JUST A RAPPER. I’M A RAPPER, I’M A DADDY, FILMMAKER, ENTREPRENEUR, [AND] PHILANTHROPIST!! THIS THE REASON I LEFT THIS DAMN STATE. Y’ALL WON’T LET ME BE GREAT. SMH. IT’S ALL GOOD. I WILL FOREVER BE  #mrlouisiana.”

Following Boosie’s last tweet on Tuesday, he went live on Instagram and revealed that he’s considering canceling his annual Boosie Bash Festival after Attorney General Liz Murrill threatened legal action against him over his Caleb Wilson tribute. Boosie said:

“These people f**king with me in Louisiana. That’s why I moved from down there, bro. It might be the last of Boosie Bash. I’m thinking of taking Boosie Bash on the road. I looked for some venues this morning. Spend me about $300,000 on a tour right quick. I’ll take this sh*t on the road, man. They ain’t gonna let me be great, bro. Man, I did this sh*t out of love, bro.

My business partner came to me and said, ‘Ay, man. You know that kid just died. You want to do something for that kid, man? And his family? Kid just died at Southern.’ I’m like, ‘Of course. I’ll do something for him. We’ll give him a 20, man. Do a $10,000 scholarship and give them another $10,000 to his family when we get there.’ This sh*t is sad, bro. All the revenue I bring to this city. All the stuff. And they just always trying to take me down, bro.”
