Bobby Shmurda’s Parole Hearing Set For August 17

Rapper Bobby Shmurda could be a free man soon as his parole hearing will occur the week of August 17, and he will most likely be released shortly after.

Shmurda’s earliest parole eligibility date is December 11, 2020. However, he could be released way earlier if the parole board approves it. Today is his 26th birthday.

“Mr. Pollard is currently scheduled to appear before the Board of Parole the week of August 17, 2020,” a Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) said to Complex. “The Board of Parole has two weeks from the date of the interview with the incarcerated individual to render a decision.”

As we reported Shmurda pleaded guilty in September 2016 to conspiracy and weapons possession charges stemming from a 2014 raid at Quad studios in Manhattan. Police discovered 21 guns, crack cocaine and marijuana. In 2016, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years in prison, which was eventually reduced to five years. He is currently serving his sentence in Clinton Correctional Facility, a maximum-security prison for men located in northern New York state.
