Earlier this week, we shared that Los Angeles rapper Blueface, real name Johnathan Jamall Porter, was arrested on Tuesday (November 15) outside of Las Vegas’ Lo-Lo’s Chicken and Waffles for attempted murder. One of the rapper’s lawyers is now claiming that he is being “overcharged in the Las Vegas shooting.
The incident (which happened last month on October 8 outside of the Euphoric Gentlemen’s Club) occurred after the alleged victim, who has since been identified as Kentabius Traylor, allegedly made a bad joke that did not sit well with the 25 year old rapper and his entourage.

Apparently, the “audible joke” was about the rapper allegedly talking to “some females in a cheap vehicle.” Traylor claims that Blueface’s entourage tried to retaliate and hit him multiple times.
The arrest report adds that Traylor retreated to his vehicle and tried to flee the scene, but claims Blueface allegedly pulled a gun and began firing his weapon in Traylor’s direction, as he drove his pickup truck.
In some surveillance footage, it can be seen that Traylor nearing runs everyone in his path over, trying to escape as he claims Blueface shoots at him.
It has been reported by LVMPD that one bullet appeared to have grazed Traylor’s left hand.
While Blueface, who has since been released on $50,000 bail, has been advised to remain tightlipped as his case goes to trial on January 24, 2023.

Blueface Attempted Murder Case: His Lawyer Says He’s Being ’Overcharged’ In Las Vegas Shooting
Meanwhile, one of the LA rapper’s three lawyers, Lisa Rasmussen, has briefly spoken out.
She said, “From first glance, it appears that the charges are overcharged. The other thing I’d like to say is that we’re really looking forward to litigating this matter in court on behalf of our client and we think that when all of the evidence comes out in court, it will be apparent that the way he’s charged is not necessarily consistent with what appears to have actually happened.”
The other two attorneys working on the rapper’s behalf include: Kristina Wildeveld and Caitlyn McAmis.
Per Cornell University’s Legal Information Institute, the word “overcharging,” in this context of the criminal justice system, is used when a “criminal prosecutor tries to prosecute the accused for more serious crimes than the known facts support.”
Rasmussen has not explicitly detailed why she believes her client is being overcharged, nor has she shared any comments from Blueface on his case and allegations.
