Blue Ivy Carter’s win was announced earlier today during the BET Award’s pre-show. The song ‘Brown Skin Girl’ originally appeared on Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift Soundtrack in 2019 and has won several awards including the Oustanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration NAACP Award in February. “Brown Skin Girl” has also earned the top spot in the Billboard Hot 100 and praise for celebrating the beauty of Black women.
Achievement definitely runs in the family as Beyonce will be accepting the Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic contributions to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic and other charitable works.
