BLM Activist Sasha Johnson Shot In London Hours After Receiving Death Threats

Black Lives Matter activist Sasha Johnson has been critically wounded after she was shot in the head in London Sunday morning.

The news was confirmed by the Taking Initiative Party after a statement was released on their official Facebook page. It reads “It is with great sadness that we inform you that our own Sasha Johnson has sustained a gunshot wound to her head. She is currently hospitalized and in critical condition. The incident happened in the early hours of this morning, following numerous death threats.”

The 27-year-old mother of three gained notoriety during last year’s protests by helping organize demonstrations and attracting crowds along with recently joined the Taking Initiative Party as a member. Authorities said the shooting occurred when she left a house party around 3 a.m. but they believe she wasn’t targeted.

According to Yahoo! News, a statement released by Detective chief inspector Jimi Tele asked the public not to make any speculations as the investigation is ongoing.

“Finally, I recognise that this incident will have shocked those in the local community and further afield. I would ask people to avoid speculating as to the motive or the circumstances behind it,”
