Black TikToker Threatens Lawsuit After Accusing LA Citibank Of Racially Profiling Her & Confiscating $30K Check In Her Name

Black TikToker and singer Baby Storme threatens to file a lawsuit against a Citibank in LA after accusing them of racially profiling her and confiscating a check she tried to cash from her father. Storme says she received a $30,000 check from her dad so that she could pay her rent up for a year. However, when she went to the East Hollywood branch on Sunset Blvd. to cash the funds, she was refused servicing.

Storme says the teller believed the check was fraudulent, but Storme believes she was really being racially profiled. The TikToker says things then escalated after the teller “confiscated” her check and wouldn’t return it. Storme says when she asked if the teller does this with all customers whose checks “aren’t acceptable,” she said the teller said, “no.” The TikToker says the teller proceeded to threaten to call the police and “locked” her in the bank with all the gates down until she stopped recording and deleted the footage of the ordeal.

Storme says she was eventually given her check back and let go, but without an explanation or apology. So, now she’s threatening to take legal action. In a follow-up post, she also accused the bank of freezing her account since the incident. Meanwhile, Citibank has released a statement. “We have spoken with (Baby Storme) and are working closely with her to resolve the issue in question. We are taking this matter very seriously and have launched a thorough investigation into what transpired on Tuesday.” #Socialites, thoughts?
