Black Owned Restaurant “Johnnie’s On Broadway” Brings A Soul Food Twist To Albany New, York
At a time where restaurants are forced to close or operate at minimum capacity, “Johnnie’s On Broadway” is continuing to bring its customers delicious food, while making sure its employees are taken care of.
Johnnie was originally from Jacksonville, Florida. He moved to Albany, New York in the 60’s. He had a family and a successful career. His dream was to move back to Jacksonville and start an automotive business with his brothers or a restaurant in Albany. Upon his death, he had started on his venture of starting his restaurant, but due to his passing, his family wanted to continue his dream, so a bar was created to make sure his legacy in the Capital District lives on.
His son and daughter officially opened up the restaurant in 2015! The thriving business has some of the best food in the city, but due to current COVID-19 business rules it is difficult to make ends meet. To make matters worse, they were hit with a fine that could make or break this black business. #Socialites make sure you check out “Johnnie’s On Broadway” and support, you won’t be disappointed with the quality!
