Just a day after Prince William spoke out to defend the royal family against racism claims, the founder of the Black choir that performed at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding is doing the same.

As many are aware, there’s been widespread speculation Charles or Prince William is the Royal Family member Harry and Meghan claim was “concerned” Archie’s skin might be too dark. Harry told Oprah it wasn’t Queen Elizabeth or Prince Philip. Karen Gibson, founder and conductor of the Kingdom’s Choir, spoke with TMZ and said she has a hard time believing Prince Charles is racist because he personally invited them to perform.

Karen told the outlet that every interaction between her Black choir and Prince Charles has been “gracious.” She also says Charles has even “gone out of his way” to congratulate the Black gospel choir on its further success, including a record deal with Sony Music.

Prince William denied Britain’s royal family is racist Thursday in his first public comments since Prince Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey: “We’re very much not a racist family,” William said in response to questions from reports as he visited a school in east London with his wife, Kate,the Duchess of Cambridge.
