Black Business Owner Who Invested Life Savings Into Minneapolis Restaurant Weeps As Looters Destroy It

Korboi Balla, a local firefighter and black business owner in Minneapolis who invested his life savings into his restaurant Scores Sports Bar, has been reduced to tears as he weeps over looters destroying his dream business.

As we report on the protests and riots following the tragic murder of George Floyd, some of those riots have turned destructive as multiple buildings and infrastructures across Minneapolis have either caught fire or been vandalized and burglarized. Of those businesses, is Balla’s Scores Sports Bar.

Appearing on a local TV outlet, Balla walks through his, now-burned down, restaurant, in tears. During the recording, looters are even seen on-camera returning to the scene to try and break open his safe. In the clip, Balla weeps, “I don’t know what were’ going to do. We’ve worked so hard to get here. So hard.” Since, a GoFundMe account has been set-up with to help rebuild the business. It’s surpassed its $100,000 goal with over $161,000 at the time of publishing this article.
