Yikes! Bishop T.D. Jakes is going viral after his Father’s Day 2023 sermon makes its rounds on the internet. During his hour and 18-minute preaching, Jakes says, “If another woman tells me how to be a father, I will flat out scream.”

While offering a sermon for Father’s Day, in which he titles ‘It’s Worth the Wait,’ Jakes, at one point, offers up a disclaimer to others trying to speak on his parenting skills. He says, “If another childless person tells me how to be a father, I’ll scream.” The audience begins to applaud and roar in laughter.
Realizing what he’s about to say might end up with him getting dragged, he acknowledges, “I know this is going to get me on TikTok, for sure, but here I go.” He continues to insist, “If another woman tells me how to be father, I will open my mouth and flat out scream. You can no more tell me how to be father, then I can tell you how to birth a baby. I don’t know nothing about birthing a baby. I don’t know nothing about nursing a child. You have to know what you don’t know. Shut up being the teacher and just be the wife.”

Jakes’ commentary in house resulted in more applause and even a standing ovation from both men and women parishioners. Responding to the audience, Jakes exclaims, “How do you know how to be a father? Not only are you not a father, most of you didn’t even have a father and yet you’re an expert on how to be…” The crowd interjects with more applause and louder roaring.
Jakes goes on, “But, that’s alright. I’m not gonna bother you, because you’re not in the text. It’s all right. I’m sorry. I got off the text Let me get back to the text. I’m not gonna bother you today … and all your ideas, and the stuff you read in ‘Essence’ and ‘Women’s Today,’ and all the things you heard at the beauty shop about what a man ought to be.”
Jakes concludes the viral moment from the Father’s Day sermon and says, ” I’m not gonna bother it today. Because you’re an expert on something you’ve never done. I’mma leave you alone. I’m not gonna try to argue with you because you talk faster than me, go ahead. But just because you outtalk me, doesn’t mean you’re gonna change my mind.”
