Billionaire MacKenzie Scott Marries Seattle Teacher & Jeff Bezos Approves: ‘He’s A Great Guy’
Billionaire MacKenzie Scott, 50, has moved on from her Amazon founder ex-husband Jeff Bezos, as she marries a Seattle teacher from their kids’ private school — whom Bezos approves of. He calls him “a great guy.”
Scott, a billionaire, author and philanthropist, has married Dan Jewett, a science teacher at the Seattle Lakeside School. The news was confirmed this weekend on Jewett’s website, The Giving Pledge. Jewett wrote, “And now, in a stroke of happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know – and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others.”

Speaking on his ex-wife’s new union, Bezos says, “Dan is such a great guy. I am happy and excited for the both of them.” As we previously reported, Bezos and Scott split in 2019 after 25 years of marriage. Together they share four kids. Meanwhile, the couple’s divorce left a hefty settlement for Scott, who is currently worth $53 billion. Elsewhere, Bezos is reportedly still seeing Lauren Sanchez, the woman he allegedly had an affair with prior his 2019 split from Scott.
Additionally, on his website, Jewett explains the many reasons why he adores Scott. He says, “I have seen many ways that MacKenzie has seen her efforts enhanced when she acts on the belief that those with common values but different perspectives, strengths, and experiences are essential to effecting positive change. We are united in that understanding and in our excitement for all we have to learn from so many people working in service of others.”
