Bill Gates has finally addressed the numerous conspiracy theories that state he was directly involved in causing the COVID-19 pandemic.

During an interview at the STAT Summit on Tuesday, Gates discussed how the Trump administration handled the pandemic and addressed the conspiracy theories that have been circulating on social media. Several of these theories claimed that the Microsoft founder was directly involved in the pandemic so he could release a vaccine to implement population control.
They also state his push for a vaccine would allow medical personnel to implant microchips to track citizens. However, Gates said he and Dr. Anthony Fauci found the theories to be shocking and called them “unexpected.”
“The idea of these conspiracies — What is the purpose of the vaccine? Is it microchipping, population control? — that was so unexpected that I don’t think either Tony or I had great advice for each other, other than, hey, keep on giving that fact-based message,”

According to Mashable, data from the Harvard Kennedy School Misinformation Review revealed that 25 percent of Americans believe the coronavirus is used as an excuse to force vaccines on the public. Thirteen percent believe that Bill Gates is behind the COVID-19 pandemic.
