A month after his request for an early release was denied by the Pennsylvania Parole Board, Cosby will be released from prison. He was sentenced to serve ten years in prison after being convicted of a felony sexual assault charge in September 2018. The parole board said the conviction could not stand because the judge permitted prosecutors to call five more of Cosby’s accusers during the trial and he shouldn’t have been prosecuted due to a prior agreement he made with a former D.A. as per TMZ.

Former D.A. Bruce Castor made the deal with Cosby stating that if he testified during a civil deposition then he wouldn’t have to face a criminal trial. Additionally, Cosby reportedly made incriminating statements regarding drugging the victims and it was presented during the trial.

The judge has thrown out the conviction and ordered Cosby to be discharged immediately. Cosby has maintained his innocence and said he has never been involved in non-consensual sex and only served two years out of his ten-year prison sentence.
