Bill Cosby Could Potentially Sue County Over Trial That Led To His Incarceration

Now that Bill Cosby is a free man, he’s exploring all of his options.

According to TMZ, Bill Cosby is speaking to his legal team on Thursday about filing a lawsuit against Montgomery County.

Cosby and and his wife, Camille, are angry that he has spent the past three years in jail and they’re looking at his options at suing the county in Pennsylvania where he was tried and convicted. One of the many avenues they can take is filing a suit for abuse of process.

The abuse of process is referred to as the incorrect or “improper use of a civil or criminal legal process for an unintended, malicious, or perverse reason.” This means that Cosby would be able to argue that the prosecutor convicted him with malice and broke the promise to Cosby had received from  the previous District Attorney over his case.

As we reported, Former D.A. Bruce Castor made the deal with Cosby stating that if he testified during a civil deposition then he wouldn’t have to face a criminal trial. Additionally, Cosby reportedly made incriminating statements regarding drugging the victims and it was presented during the trial.

The judge threw out the conviction and ordered Cosby to be discharged immediately. Cosby has maintained his innocence and said he has never been involved in non-consensual sex and only served two years out of his ten-year prison sentence.
