After failing to secure any wins at the People’s Choice Country Awards despite 17 nominations, and after being snubbed with zero nominations at the CMA Awards despite the historic impact of ‘Cowboy Carter,’ it’s now being reported that Beyoncé’s Country-inspired album is now eyeing nominations and awards at the 2025 Grammy Awards, especially for “Best Country Album.”

On Wednesday (October 2), The Hollywood Reporter exclusively shared that Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter‘ album will compete in the Grammy Awards’ “Country” category in 2025. The publication noted that Queen Bey could possibly earn her first Country nomination 7 years after the Grammys rejected her twangy song “Daddy Lessons,” off of her 2016 album ‘Lemonade.’

This was the song that Bey famously performed as a remix with The Dixie Chicks, now known as The Chicks, during the 50th CMA Awards ceremony in 2016. The poorly-received performance and racist backlash is what notably spawned ‘Cowboy Carter,’ which features Country legends and singers Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Linda Martell, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and Black Country newcomer Shaboozey.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a source told them about Bey’s ‘Cowboy Carter‘ submission. Last week, the Recording Academy held a screening committee meeting, where members discussed the categories in which albums or songs will compete along with the artists who are qualified for “Best New Artist,” like Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter, whose hit songs have taken over radio airwaves and digital platforms.

As previously mentioned, the news arrived just weeks after Beyoncé was severely snubbed by the Country Music Association Awards. She received zero nominations for ‘Cowboy Carter‘ and its No. 1 single “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The 43-year-old singer also lost in the 17 categories she was nominated for at last week’s People’s Choice Country Awards.

It’s reported that if Beyoncé — who is the most decorated artist in the history of the Grammy Awards, having won the most Grammys (32) — wins “Best Country Album” at the 2025 Grammy Awards, it would be the first time she has ever won in the Country Music genre.

Bey’s also become a unicorn having been nominated across multiple genres at the Grammys. At the 2017 ceremony, she was nominated in all categories of R&B, Rap, Pop, and Rock in the same year with her 2016 album ‘Lemonade.’ At the 2023 ceremony, she also slayed in the Dance category with her ‘Renaissance‘ album.

Bey has 21 Grammys in R&B, 3 in Rap, 2 in Dance, and 2 for “Best Music Video.” Additionally, she’s won one award in the following categories: “Song of the Year,” “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance,” “Best Music Film,” and “Best Surround Sound Album.”
