Additionally, she led the Grammys with nine nominations, putting her in a tie with her husband Jay-Z, the couple has 88 each. The nomination totals includes her work as a member of Destiny’s Child. According to Variety, Jay-Z has 24 Grammys and he has a songwriting credit on “Renaissance.” It is also Beyonce’s first year as being nominated in the dance/electronica categories as the album was submitted in the category instead of best R&B album.

Meanwhile, fans were more concerned about why Beyonce was running late to the Grammys

After accepting the award on her behalf, The-Dream joked about Beyonce running late and said “You know n*ggas be on CP time, Beyonce thanks yall.” Seconds later, fans joked about the moment and even commented on Adele laughing at the commentary.

However, some people were not comfortable with the joke being told among a diverse audience. One user said, “Why would he even say that,” as another said in response, “Right. Like, everything isn’t to be said in front of everyone. They’re too comfortable within our culture as is.”
