Is Beyonce gearing up to release new music?
The “Formation” singer, who is no stranger to surprise releases, has removed all of her profile photos on social platforms such as Twitter and Instagram, including her official YouTube channel. Eagle-eyed fans took notice of the sudden change on Friday morning, with the hashtag #BeyonceIsBack trending on Twitter soon after, leading many to speculate whether this was the first clue to new music being on the way.
“If Beyoncé drops an album tonight at midnight I’m unavailable for the rest of the month,” one person tweeted, while another fan wrote, “One thing about Beyoncé is she knows when to attack, tease and drop.. she’s THE Queen for a reason. now let’s wait what’s in store for us #beyonceisBACK”

But not all fans are jumping on the bandwagon to celebrate in excitement for new music, with some speculating whether Beyonce has simply taken down all her social media profile pics to tease another Ivy Park collection. “I really hope Bey brings new music. I can’t be this excited for her to just drop some Ivy Park Collections. The beehives need her now more than ever!!!! #beyonceisBACK,” another tweeted.
Back in August 2021, the mother-of-three gave a candid interview to Harper’s Bazaar, where she also revealed how being stuck at home during the pandemic gave her plenty of time to work on new music in the studio. However, she didn’t say whether any of those songs would actually be tied to her seventh album.
Recording music during a worldwide crisis appeared to have brought peace and comfort to the Texas native, who told the publication, “With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible. I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half.”

Beyonce’s last studio album, “Lemonade,” was released in April 2016, telling the emotional journey Bey had conquered after her husband Jay-Z stepped out on their marriage, which she expressed in generational context through visuals, poetry, music, and songwriting. The heavily praised body of work went on to sell over four million copies worldwide and spawned multiple singles, including “Sorry,” “All Night,” and “Freedom,” to name a few.
The record was followed by her joint project with Hova on their 2018 collaborative album, “Everything Is Love,” which was also a surprise release. Though the album was only supported with the release of one single, “Apes**,” it still went on to peak at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 200 and received favorable reviews from critics.
