However, like always, the singer handled the situation like a pro after briefly pausing the show to get back to the ground safely. She later joked about the incident and even included a gorgeous picture of her mid-air, mid-crisis to her photo dump of night 1 in H-Town.

As fans packed out a sold-out NRG Stadium Saturday night for the first of two Beyoncé concerts, the BeyHive was soon gasping for air as Bey began to perform her song “16 Carriages.” But that wouldn’t be the only time, they felt breathless.

For the performance, Beyoncé took a seat in a prop car that was suspended high inside the stadium, flying high above her fans. But shortly into the song, the car became stuck, leaving fans in horrified and Beyoncé having to stop singing and call out, “Stop, stop, stop, stop…”

Video of the scry incident went viral on social media. Despite the horrific moment, Beyoncé handled things like the professional that she is. She was safely lowered to the ground and hopped out the car and back onto the stage.

Once back in front of the venue, she told the crowd, “I want to thank y’all for loving me. If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.” She then continued to perform her song.

Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment company spoke out on Instagram following the incident. The statement read:

“Tonight in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car — a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium, and see her fans up close — to tilt. She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”

As mentioned, Beyoncé also nodded to the moment in her photo dump/recap of night 1 in Houston. On her Instagram, she shared several photos from the evening. On the last swipe of her carousel post, she shared an image of her “sitting sideways” in the malfunctioning flying prop car. She titled the post, “I love you, Houston.”
