Betty White Shares Life Secrets Ahead of 100th Birthday: ‘Avoid Anything Green’
Ahead of her 100th birthday, beloved actress Betty White is sharing her secrets to living a long and healthy life.
While speaking with PEOPLE for her cover story, the 99-year-old star said “I’m so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age. It’s amazing.”
The “Golden Girls” icon, who will reach her milestone birthday on Jan. 17 talked about her diet as it could hold the key to her longevity while showcasing her signature sense of humor. She said the secret to her positive outlook on life is being “born a cockeyed optimist. I got it from my mom, and that never changed. I always find the positive,” she added. When it comes to her diet, White said she doesn’t bother with the usual healthy foods. “I try to avoid anything green,” she explained. “I think it’s working.”

In celebration of her big day, it was announced earlier this month that fans can bring in her birthday with her by watching White’s birthday celebration “100 Years Young” in select theaters.
It will be a 1-hour and 40-minute film that features cameos from White’s friends including Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin Manuel- Miranda, Clint Eastwood, Jimmy Kimmel, and others. It was noted that tickets will been available through Fathom events and all tickets will be $13.38.
