Madoff’s death certificate was listed that the death was natural and he died from hypertension, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease as reported by TMZ. Before his death, Madoff’s high blood pressure had been left untreated and his kidneys were failing around for a decade. Madoff previously filed a request for compassionate release last year since he was dying from kidney failure and claimed he didn’t pose a risk to the public but a judge denied the request.

The 82-year-old Ponzi Scheme king was serving a 150-year sentence in prison for his role in the biggest Wall Street fraud in history.
