Benzino recalled the alleged moment during his recent appearance on the ‘The Gauds Show,’ where he claimed that the King of Pop had allegedly been upset with Slim Shady for making fun of his tragedy in 1984, when pyrotechnics accidentally set fire to MJ’s hair during filming for a Pepsi commercial.

Eminem reenacted the moment during his 2004 music video for “Just Lose It.” Slim Shady also took several digs at other high-profile and controversial moments during the King of Pop’s lengthy and successful career.

Recalling the moment the King of Pop allegedly thanked him for dissing Eminem, Benzino says, “Let me tell you. Michael Jackson called me for 45 minutes. I was in the [JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa] and Mike Jackson called me. I knew Mike. I met Mike through Teddy [Riley]. I got to spend some time with him. But, Mike called me and he thanked me. Because when Eminem dissed him with the fire situation in the [“Just Lose It”] video, Mike called.”

Benzino continues, “And I remember his assistant put him on the phone and I sat there and I just listened to him. He thanked me and then he started talking about Tommy Mottola, and he started saying like … Mike was [calling] them devils. And I was like, ‘Oh sh*t. This is one of the greatest moments of my life that Mike was telling me…’”

Benzino clarifies, And I’m not saying it because not all white people are bad. We’re not saying that. Not all of them are devils. But Mike was referring to the situation in the music industry and he just was going on a rant. But, I’ll just never forget that. He actually thanked me, because I kind of upheld [and stood tall against that].”

Benzino continues, “And I was at a point where I didn’t have to answer to nobody. So, when everybody was scared to say something, I was the only one who [wasn’t]. And everything I said was true. I said that Black people got Hip-Hop, and we got white people to finally buy into us. And now they want to give the white people back someone that they can buy into.”
