Renfield, the tortured aide to his narcissistic boss, Dracula, is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding. However, after centuries of servitude, he’s ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of the Prince of Darkness. The film is a bloody good time and gives us a different look into Dracula, a more fun one that doesn’t take away from the gore. Ahead of the release we spoke with legendary director and producer Chris Mckay & Robert Kirkman on bringing to Renfield to life and how they chose to tell his story.
We also had a chance to speak with Sonic’s Ben Schwartz who had a very different role this time around and had to tap into his inner gangster to play Teddy! Ben also shared the deeper meanings in the film and learning to put yourself before certain relationships and being able to walk away from things, which Renfield is definitely getting on the path to do!
