Beloved Atlanta News Anchor Jovita Moore Passes Away After A Battle With Brain Cancer
Socialites, join us in taking a moment in sending prayers and our condolences to the family of New Anchor Jovita Moore as it’s just been shared that she has sadly passed away.
Earlier this year, Moore revealed to the public that she had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Moore underwent surgery back in April after doctors discovered two masses in her brain. According to WSBTV, Jovita died overnight, seven months after her diagnosis.
Many viewers and supporters have taken to social media to pay tribute to the anchor. Director Tyler Perry even shared a post on his Instagram. He said, “Jovita Moore. We know you fought with all you had! I will miss your beautiful smile and warm laughter, let alone seeing you in my living room everyday. You will be missed greatly my friend. Many heartfelt prayers to your family. May your soul travel well! Life is but a moment.”
Atlanta Mayor Keyshia Lance Bottom also released a statement on Moore’s passing:
Jovita Moore, who began her career in 1990 in Arkansas and joined WSB-TV in 1998 where she anchored the evening and 11 p.m. newscast, her mother and her two children, who she called the most important accomplishments of her life.
