Old Corner Saloon owner Todd Anderson,59, was arrested in Acampo on Wednesday after he was caught selling the cards to undercover agents at the bar. The agents from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control said they purchased eight vaccination cards for $20 each from Anderson on several occasions in April. According to USA Today, the FBI officially made it illegal in March to purchase or create fake versions of vaccinations since the card uses a government seal.

After shutting down his operation, the agents collected his laminating machine and 30 blank vaccination cards.

“People who buy fake cards can have their own information added to the card or add it in themselves, so it appears they have been vaccinated when they have not. These deceptive cards threaten the health of our communities, slow progress in getting people protected from the virus, and violate many state laws,”

Anderson is facing several federal charges which include felony identity theft, and falsifying medical records. Additionally, he faces charges for possession of a loaded unregistered firearm in San Joaquin County.
