Madi Prewett Gets Real About Her Journey
#Socialites, Bachelor alum Madi Prewett is speaking her truth, and she’s not sugarcoating a thing. On the latest episode of her Stay True podcast, Madi opened up about her past personal battle with porn and masturbation addictions—a struggle she says haunted her even as a devoted Christian.
“No matter how much I loved Jesus, I could not shake that sin. I could not break free from porn and masturbation,” Madi shared during Tuesday’s episode.

Her Addiction Started Young — And It Started Quiet
Looking back, Madi said her struggle started in middle school—after being exposed to hookup culture and inappropriate media content.
“I had already had moments of being curious about things and having certain feelings or wondering certain things or fantasizing about certain things. I had not told that to anyone,” she revealed. “I had not pursued to do anything about that, but I was curious, and I was about 13 years old. I went over to a friend’s house and her parents weren’t around and she turned on this show that was extremely inappropriate.”
That one moment turned into years of battling something in silence.
“I felt desire and things that I had never felt before,” Madi recalled. “But that was something that enslaved me and marked me for so long.”
Even though she lived her life rooted in Christian values, the guilt and shame that came with her struggle began to eat at her confidence.
“I questioned my worth and my identity,” she said. “Every time I gave in to sexual sin, I didn’t know my purpose.”
So, How Is She Now? Madi Says She’s Free
Despite her past, Madi shared that she’s been able to overcome her addiction through faith and community.
“Thankfully, by the grace of God and by the power of Godly community and people around me, I have been free from porn and masturbation for – I don’t even know – 10 years,” she said.
Now, she’s walking in freedom—and using her platform to help others do the same.
From Reality TV To Real Life Healing
Madi rose to fame in 2020 as one of the breakout stars of Season 24 of The Bachelor. But what’s even more impressive than her reality TV appearance is the way she’s flipped her platform into something meaningful.
These days, she’s focused on faith, family, and purpose. Madi is married to Grant Troutt, and the couple recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Hosanna.
