During a recent interview, Tina Knowles recently shared her admiration for beloved entertainer Zendaya. While speaking with Variety Tuesday at the Challengers premiere in Los Angeles, Knowles, who has recently been in the spotlight herself supporting her daughter Beyoncé’s Cécred haircare line, couldn’t help but praise Zendaya’s journey from a child star to a leading actress.
“I love Zendaya!” Knowles expressed. “The first time I saw her, I used to watch her in the Disney series with my grandson [Solange‘s son Julez Smith] and she just reeked of stardom. She is just the most gracious, beautiful girl, and she reminds me of my daughter — she’s a Virgo like my daughter [Beyoncé]!”

Of course, Zendaya is a proud member of the Beyhive, having collaborated with Beyoncé in the Lemonade film and paying homage to her iconic looks at events like the BET Awards. She also joined Beyoncé on her Renaissance World Tour in 2023 alongside her boo Tom Holland.
Interestingly enough, Zendaya’s “Challengers” co-star Josh O’Connor revealed that it was a challenge to speak with Zendaya once Beyoncé dropped her new country music.
“There was a day when we were shooting, and Beyoncé’s new track was coming out – and I’m not saying that Beyoncé is like your equivalent of my ceramics, but no one could talk to Z,” O’Connor recalled. “Like we didn’t engage that entire day, you were just listening to that song every second,” IndieWire quotes.
