Autopsy Report Reveals Rayshard Brooks’ Death Ruled As A Homicide

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has revealed Rayshard Brooks’ cause of death and ruled it as a homicide.

According to WSB-TV, Brooks was shot twice in the back and died of organ damage and blood loss. The announcement was made earlier today by Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard claiming that his staff witnessed the autopsy as part of the investigation and is hoping to announce a decision of possible charges for former Atlanta Police Department Officer Garrett Rolfe. His partner, Devin Bronsan is currently on administrative leave.

“We are working around the clock to bring this investigation to a conclusion, and it is my hope to be able to announce our decision midweek,”

The GBI is also conducting their own private investigation and Howard said his office is having difficulties obtaining body cam and dashcam footage from the night of Brooks’ death. Amid the video of Brooks’ death going viral, APD Police Chief Erika Fields resigned on Saturday and said she wanted the city to “move forward and build trust” among law enforcement and the community.
