Amanda Bynes’ Attorney Speaks Out After Reports Claim She May Lose Custody When Baby Is Born

Amanda Bynes took to social media on Tuesday to share some exciting news with her fans. The former actress revealed that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Paul Michael.

Now, it’s only been less than 24 hours since she broke the news, but TMZ is already reporting that she might have to give up custody when her child is born due to her mental health issues. A source who’s apparently close to the star told the news site that Bynes is about 6 months pregnant and currently receiving treatment in a psychiatric facility. TMZ noted that the plan is for Paul or her father to share custody of the baby since she remains under a conservatorship run by her parents, who have made her legal and medical decisions for years.

While Bynes has not publicly spoken out on these latest reports, her attorney, David Esquibias, has released a statement to TMZ saying,

“I’m not confirming that Amanda is expecting and because of that it’s premature for anyone to speculate about who would have custody of Amanda’s unborn child.”

The 33-year-old has since scrubbed her pregnancy announcement from her social media page which showed her ultrasound along with the caption that read, “baby on board.”

5.7-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Salt Lake City Area

Early Wednesday morning, a 5.7-magnitude earthquake shook Salt Lake City area, knocking out power to thousands and prompting the governor to urge people to stay away from the capital’s downtown.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck about 4 miles northeast of Magna, Utah 7:09 a.m. MT, which is 15 miles west of Salt Lake City. The state’s Department of Emergency Management said it was the largest quake in Utah since 1992. “It is very likely that you will feel aftershocks today,” the department said. “The strongest shaking seems to have been felt around Salt Lake County. The power has been knocked out in some areas.

The latest quake comes as many people around the world including Utah residents are dealing with the new changes brought by the coronavirus pandemic, including canceling schools and limiting mass gatherings. Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall said on Twitter,

“I know the last thing we need right now is an earthquake, but here we are, and it sounds like aftershocks are likely,” she said. ”The city is assessing the situation now and I’ll circle back with an update when I have it. Be safe,” Mendenhall said.

As of right now, there are no official reports of injuries, but the Salt Lake City Airport has been knocked out of operation, officials said.

Actress Vanessa Hudgens Apologizes For Insensitive Coronavirus Comments

A few days ago, actress Vanessa Hudgens went Live on Instagram and weighed in on the deadly coronavirus which has spread across the globe. In the video, the 31-year-old told her viewers, “I’m sorry, but like, it’s a virus, I get it, like, I respect it, but at the same time I’m like, even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible but like, inevitable?” Her remarks sparked outrage among some of her 38.4 million Instagram followers, who called her insensitive and accused the star of not taking the deadly virus seriously.

Amid the controversy, Vanessa eventually posted another Instagram story Tuesday stating that her comments on the virus were taken out of context and made it clear that, “I don’t take this situation lightly by any means. I am home, so stay inside y’all.” Shortly after her clarification, Vanessa spoke out again, sharing an apology to the people she offended.

She tweeted,

“I realize my words were insensitive and not at all appropriate for the situation our country and the world are in right now,” she wrote. “This has been a huge wake-up call to the significance my words have, now more than ever. I’m sending safe wishes to everyone to stay safe and healthy during this crazy time.”

It appeared that the actress was reacting to Donald Trump’s warning on Monday that the coronavirus response could stretch into July or August. As we previously reported, The Centers for Disease Control is urging people to practice social distancing while some local governments are shutting down restaurants, bars and gyms to prevent the spread of the virus.

Brother Of Manchester Arena Bomber Found Guilty Of Killing 22 At Ariana Grande’s Concert

Hashem Abedi, the brother of the Manchester Arena suicide bomber has been found guilty of the murder of 22 innocent people and helping to plan one of the deadliest terror attacks in the history of the United Kingdom.

According to the British Press Association, Hashem Abedi, who is the younger brother of suicide bomber Salman Abedi — was convicted Tuesday at the Justice Hall in London on 22 counts of murder, one count of attempted murder encompassing the remaining injured, along with one count of conspiring with his brother to cause explosions. Hashem had initially denied having any involvement in the 2017 attack and tried to distance himself from his brother. However, prosecutors say even though Hashem wasn’t in the UK at the time of the attack, his DNA and fingerprints were found on the property where the bomb was made.

In addition to that, prosecutors reportedly showed evidence in court that proved Hashem was involved in the research and making of the explosives before he returned to Libya a month before the deadly attack. The judge said he would be sentenced at a later date so that victims’ families could have the opportunity to attend, NBC News notes.

As we previously reported, Salman Abedi carried out the attack in May, 2017 at the end of Grande’s concert. A source explained that the bomb went off right after the singer left the stage. While it was a very traumatic experience for Grande and her fans, just a month after the tragic event, Grande bravely teamed up with stars like Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Liam Gallagher to put on the One Love concert in Manchester to honor the victims.

Eric B.’s Daughter Erica Barrier
Dies At 28 After Car Crash

#Socialites, we have some unfortunate news to share. The daughter of Hip-Hop legend Eric B. has sadly passed away. According to reports, his daughter, Erica Barrier was involved in a car accident on Sunday in Connecticut, The New York Daily News reports citing an Instagram post from Sister 2 Sister’s publisher Jamie Foster Brown. It was said that Barrier suffered a broken neck and spine and was admitted into the intensive care unit at Connecticut’s Hartford Hospital.

The Sunday post read,

“‘Twenty Eight year old, Erica Supreme Barrier, the daughter of music legend Eric Barrier ( Eric B) is in extreme critical condition this morning after a horrific car crash in Connecticut. This after an 18 wheeler rolled over her vehicle at approximately 1 am in Hartford. Investigators are still piecing together the exact cause of the crash. Barrier is suffering from severe neck and spine fractures, among her many life-threatening injuries,’ confirmed Eric B’s longtime publicist Alvina Alston. The family is at her bedside and asking for your prayers.”

Alston shared an update today, confirming that Erica passed away Monday evening (March 16).

“She fought a valiant fight, however, we trust God [and] His ultimate decision to bring her home. We want to sincerely thank everyone from around the world for the outpouring of support and love during this difficult time,” Alston said on Eric B.’s behalf. “Please continue to keep our family in prayer as we now prepare to lay Erica to rest. This was an unfortunate vehicular accident that claimed her life, however, and it’s also crucial that we pray for the other driver involved. Our hearts also go out to him and his family as we hold no ill will in our hearts for those involved. Again, we accept God’s will and want to sincerely thank the good samaritans, first responders and impeccable medical staff who cared for our daughter at Hartford Hospital, Hartford CT.”

Rapper Rakim also offered his condolences to the famed hip-hop pioneer and his partner on Facebook. He said,

“Deepest of condolences to my brother Eric B. and all of the extended family,” he wrote Monday (March 16). “This evening, his daughter Erica passed on after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident. Erica was the brightest of stars and while we miss her physical form greatly, we will celebrate her life and her energy eternally.”

UPDATE: Andrew Gillum Announces He Will Enter Rehab

On Sunday, former mayor of Tallahassee Andrew Gillum announced that he would enter a rehab facility. The move comes right after he was named in a police report detailing an alleged overdose incident inside a Miami Beach hotel room where alleged bags of crystal meth were found.

In the statement shared Sunday evening, Gillum explained that since his race for governor ended in 2018, he entered a depression that led to alcohol abuse. He did not mention the recent events in his statemnent but did say that he is committed to getting his life back on the right track.

“After conversation with my family and deep reflection, I have made the decision to seek help, guidance and enter a rehabilitation facility at this time,” Gillum said in a statement. “I now need to firmly focus on myself and my family. I will be stepping down from all public facing roles for the foreseeable future.”

He went on to say,

“Since my race for governor ended, I fell into a depression that has led to alcohol abuse,” Gillum said in his Sunday night statement, issued by a national public relations firm. “I witnessed my father suffer from alcoholism and I know the damaging effects it can have when untreated. I also know that alcoholism is often a symptom of deeper struggles. I am committed to doing the personal work to heal fully and show up in the world as a more complete person.”

As we previously reported, authorities identified a man named Travis Dyson, a gay male escort from the website RentMen.com. On the profile, he listed himself as a “pornstar performer” and offered several services. Dyson and the former mayor were found together in a drugged state at the Mondrian South Beach and officers say they did not arrest Gillum but he was unable to communicate due to being in “an inebriated state.”

According to NBC Miami, another man who has been identified as Aldo Mejias – was also with the guys and called rescue crews after he arrived at the hotel and found both Gillum and Dyson in an inebriated state. Mejias told officers he began performing first aid on Dyson after he collapsed and began throwing up on a bed while Gillum was throwing up inside a bathroom.

In his first statement, Gillum said he was in town for a wedding celebration and admitted to having too much to drink. However, he made it “clear that I have never used methamphetamines. I apologize to the people of Florida for the distraction this has caused our movement.”

NFL Will No Longer Suspend Players For Positive Marijuana Tests

Here’s some good news that many NFL players and fans would like to hear: the days of NFL players getting suspended for testing positive for marijuana have finally come to an end all thanks to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, which was passed by the NFLPA on Sunday. Under the new deal, marijuana use can no longer be a reason for a player to get suspended.

Now, while marijuana has been legalized in states across the country, there has always been a big push for the NFL to eliminate penalizing players when it shows up on drug tests. Not only does the new CBA end with suspensions for players who test positive for marijuana, but it also limits testing and raises the threshold for a positive result, according to James Palmer of the NFL Network.

Following the news, Palmer took to Twitter Sunday to further explain that,

“The new CBA eliminates suspensions for positive marijuana tests and also limits the testing period to the first two weeks of training camp and raises the threshold for a positive test from 35 to 150 nanograms of THC.”

In addition to all of this, there are a number of other big changes that will come with the new CBA. There will be two additional playoffs for each game. Starting 2021, a 17th game will be added to the regular-season schedule. On top of that, the minimum salary in the NFL will also see an increase, as will the revenue share that the players receive, 247Sports reports.

‘7th Heaven’ Star Lorenzo Brino Dies At 21

Lorenzo Brino, the young actor who starred in the hit TV show “7th Heaven,” has sadly died.

According to TMZ, the 21-year-old actor was killed when he lost control of his Toyota Camry and hit a pole. Brino was the only one in his vehicle and was later pronounced dead. It was noted that the tragic accident happened last Monday around 3 AM in San Bernardino County, but the name of the victim was not confirmed until now.

Brino was part of a quadruplet and all of them appeared on the show from 1999 to 2007 on a rotating basis as infants. Lorenzo’s first appearance on the show was when Annie Camden gave birth. TMZ notes that it was one of the most-watched episodes of the series.

While fans of the show took to social media to pay tribute to the young star, Lorenzo’s aunt, Janet Brino, shared a touching message to her beloved nephew. She wrote,

“To my dear sweet nephew, your loss left a hole in my heart. God needed another Angel and he took you. Please watch over your mom and dad.  You sister Mimi, brothers, Antonio, Zachary and Nicholas … You got a big job up there.”

First Coronavirus-Related Death Confirmed In New York

This Saturday morning, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the coronavirus has claimed its first life in New York. He explained that the woman with underlying respiratory issues died Friday night at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn.

“We had last night a death in a New York City hospital of an 82-year-old woman who had coronavirus. She came into the hospital on March 3,” he said. “She contracted the coronavirus on top of emphysema, then she passed.”

According to The New York Post, New York now has 524 positive cases, which is an increase of 100 from Friday, with 117 patients now in hospitals. “The more tests we take, the more that number will go up,” Cuomo noted. “We believe there are thousands of people who have coronavirus [in the state]. Maybe tens of thousands.”

Cuomo also encouraged New Yorkers to seek health advice remotely, saying the state would waive copayments for insurers “for any telemedicine visits.”

Meanwhile, Mayor Bill de Blasio noted that the 82-year-old woman who died had been in critical condition since she was admitted to the hospital.

“We’ve known from the outset that these people are the most at risk in this pandemic, and today’s news is a sad confirmation of that reality,” de Blasio said. “I ask every New Yorker to do their part and take the necessary precautionary measures to protect the people most at risk.”

Aside from this, the Associated Press carefully noted that amid all the fears, quarantines and stockpiling of food, more that 60,000 people have already recovered from the coronavirus spreading around the globe.

On Friday, UFC star Conor McGregor took to social media to share some heartbreaking news. In an Instagram post, the 31-year-old
revealed that his aunt has passed away. While paying tribute to his “lovely” relative, he also blasted the deadly coronavirus on social media.

The fighter explained in his post that he received the news about the passing of his aunt, Anne Moore, over the phone just shortly before he was due to go on television in Dublin to promote his ‘Proper No 12’ whiskey brand.

“I get a phone call telling me that my lovely little auntie Anne had passed away,” McGregor writes. I couldn’t go live anymore. My poor little friendly loving auntie. My mother’s sister. This stupid (expletive)virus. What the (expletive) is happening.” The Irish MMA icon did not share any further details about his aunt’s death. However, he did encourage folks out in Ireland to stay strong and to “stay tight people, we are all we got.”

China’s richest man, Jack Ma has decided to setup and help the US.

Ma, who is the founder of the popular wholesale company, Alibaba, is donating one million face masks and 500,000 coronavirus test kits to the country to help the world’s largest economy fight the outbreak, which has killed at least 5,000 people worldwide.

Jack Ma, who’s worth worth £31.6billion announced the big move on Friday through his account on Twitter-like Weibo. He said he was able to gather the supplies today and will immediately send them out “as donations to the American people.”

“Based on the counter-epidemic experience we have gained in the past months, quick and accurate test solution and protective equipment for medical workers are the key goods to stop the epidemic from escalating,” The Daily Mail quotes. Ma went on to say, “Hopefully, these supplies can help some people in the United States. This is a big epidemic challenge faced by mankind in an era of globalisation. To this day, it is no longer a challenge any country can overcome by itself, but one that all of us need to face together hand-in-hand.” Before concluding, the self-made billionaire, who used to be an English teacher, said, “United we stand, divided we fall!”

The 55-year-old is not only helping Americans. According to the news site, Ma announced earlier this week that he was donating 1.8million face masks and 100,000 coronavirus test kits to Europe.
