Australian Anti-Masker Bashes Police Officer’s Head Into Concrete
A 38-year-old Australian anti-masker has been arrested after bashing a police officer’s head into concrete over mask regulations.
The unidentified woman allegedly assaulted two Melbourne officers after they approached her to enforce local face covering policies to curb the spread of coronavirus. Before the confrontation erupted, the officers asked the maskless woman her name.

Chief Commissioner Shane Patton explains, “After a confrontation and being assaulted by that woman, those police officers went to ground and there was a scuffle. During that scuffle, this 38-year-old woman smashed the head of the [26-year-old] policewoman several times into a concrete area on the ground.” The other officer was allegedly pushed by the woman, who is now facing nine charges, including assaulting an emergency worker and recklessly causing injury.
Patton continues, “That behavior is just totally unacceptable. That’s someone who thinks they’re above the law. They’re not wearing a mask. They’re approached and asked the reason why not and then to react like that is just completely over the top.”
The maskless woman has since been released on bail and is due for trial next year.
