Atlanta Spa Mass Shooter Was Turned In By Parents
The parents of the Atlanta spa mass shooter, Robert Aaron Long, are responsible for turning him in.
21-year-old Long is in jail without bail after killing eight people on Tuesday. He could have still been at large if his own mother and father didn’t turn him in.
“We were contacted by members of the family indicating that may be their son, so we met with them,” Cherokee County Sheriff Frank Reynolds said. “They were very distraught, and they were very helpful in this apprehension.”

It’s reported that Long drove around the metro area and visited three spas. Law enforcement officials say four people were fatally shot at two spas in Northeast Atlanta, and four others were killed at a spa in Cherokee County. The victims were two Asian women, a white woman, and a white man. A fifth victim was identified as a Hispanic man. The other four victims were all Asian women.
“There are conflicting emotions” said Elizabeth Jeglic, a professor of psychology at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice to Yahoo Life, “Are they causing harm to other people? If they are doing something against your own family values and are a danger to others … people often feel an ethical and moral responsibility [to tell].”
