Atlanta Police Warn About Scammers Placing Fake Parking Citations On Vehicles
Police in Atlanta are warning residents and travelers about scammers placing fake parking citations on vehicles around the city. City officials say they just became aware of the scam earlier this week.
At first glance, the phony tickets are nearly identical to the city-issued violations. They include a date, an officer’s name, a description of the vehicle, details on the violation and instructions on how to pay the citation with a QR code and website printed underneath.

However, city officials have since shared notes on how to spot the differences up close and know when you’re being scammed or if it’s the real deal. They say city-issued tickets will never have a QR code printed on the tickets — this code is how the scammers are making money of the vehicle owner. Officials also say, if owners have questions about authenticity, authorized tickets will be accessible online at ATLPlusMobility.com. #Socialites, share this post and tag friends below to share the news!
