Another mass shooting shakes the planet, this time overseas at Australia’s Bondi Beach Park (near Sydney), where police say a Jewish community was targeted while celebrating a Hanukkah event. At least 11 people were left dead in what police are calling a “terrorist attack.”

According to BBC, eleven people have died, including one of two gunmen. At least another 29 people were left injured and taken to the hospital in serious conditions. This total includes two police officers, and possibly a child.

Authorities say they have the second gunman in custody and are investigating if there was a possible third shooter involved in the harrowing incident.

Police said more than 1,000 people were attending a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach when the shooting occurred. The event was in commemoration of the first day of the Jewish holiday. Authorities claimed the attack was “designed to target Sydney’s Jewish community.”

Eyewitnesses claim they saw “bodies lying on the floor.” Police also say they found Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in a car linked to one of the gunmen. Authorities confirmed the devices are being removed from the scene.

Video Shows Brave Bystander Wrestling Gun From One Of Two Shooters During Bondi Beach Mass Shooting Incident

Meanwhile, a viral video shows a brave bystander wrestling a gun from one of two shooters in the attack. He’s reportedly hospitalized and is being dubbed a “genuine hero.” According to online reports, the 43-year-old Muslim man named Ahmed Al Ahmad. Reports claim he is a father-of-two who owns a fruit shop in the Sydney area. He’s also reportedly a prominent figure Sydney’s Arab and Muslim community.

Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese addressed the mass shooting at Bondi Beach. Albanese said it was an “act of evil antisemitism, terrorism that has struck the heart of our nation.” Israeli President Isaac Herzog called the shooting a “very cruel attack on Jews.” Meanwhile, British politician and lawyer Keir Starmer said the United Kingdom “will always stand with Australia and the Jewish community.”
