Ashanti Says ‘It’s Giving Obsessed’ While Seemingly Taking Shots At Irv Gotti & His “Little’ Sausage On Diddy’s “Gotta Move On (Remix)”
We all know about Irv’s explosive interview on REVOLT’s ‘Drink Champs’ — which went viral and included him spilling tons of alleged tea on him and his former artist.
In his interview, Irv claimed that his alleged romance with Ashanti “helped” her budding career. He said, “So, ‘Happy,’ let me explain how the lyrics and how I worked her… So, we’re together.
We just finished sleeping together, or whatever, I’m taking a shower. I’m in the shower, you know, a n***a be creative after [sex] … I think of the whole track in the shower.
Okay, now it’s time for you to write. Yo, I want the sh*t to be a feel-good joint, like summertime … The energy, that record came about ’cause of our energy.”
When N.O.R.E. asked Irv if he “missed that energy a little bit,” Irv replied back, “Not anymore … Twenty years ago when we stopped.”
For weeks leading up to Irv’s BET docu-series, ‘The Murder Inc. Story,’ Irv was namedropping the Princess of Hip-Hop and R&B in every single interview.
He would continue to speak on their alleged relationship that occurred 20 years prior. Throughout the promotional campaign, Ashanti remained tightlipped and lived her best life unbothered.
Besides social media making him trend and calling him out, rappers Fat Joe and Ja Rule even spoke on the viral ‘Drink Champs‘ interview and how Irv needed to let things go.
After some time has died down and each of the parties have moved out of the news cycle; it appears Ashanti is getting her lick back. The New York singer decided to keep things cute on a remix of Diddy and Bryson Tiller’s hit “Gotta Move On.”
On the track, Ashanti sings, “N***a I’m gone. N***a I’m done. N***a move on.” Ashanti then sings, “[…] had ya little d*ck.” She continues, “It’s giving obsessed. It’s giving you stressed. It’s giving you pressed. It’s giving this n***a missing the best, But it’s been 20 years, n***a please say less. We can see you and your tears.”
