Ariana Grande appears to have come across the many comments from concerned fans who have been commenting on her weight in recent weeks. Particularly on Twitter, the singer has found herself trending ever-so-often, with people sharing their thoughts on Grande’s health, with some going as far as to allege Grande was not living a healthy lifestyle based on recent photos they had seen of her.

Well, the “7 Rings” hitmaker has since taken to TikTok to clear the air and let it be known that she’s not only the healthiest she’s been in a long time but that those who are commenting on people’s bodies need to be mindful of what they’re putting out on the internet. “I just wanted to come on and… I don’t do this often,” she said. “I don’t like it. I’m not good at it. But I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to.”

Grande went on to say, “I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what. If you think you’re saying something good or well-intentioned, whatever it is, healthy or unhealthy, big or small, this or that, sexy or not sexy, we should really work towards not doing that as much.”

The 29-year-old stressed that there are many different ways in which someone can look and feel healthy — it’s not always based on how others see them. “And personally for me, the body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body,” she continued. The images from a few years back which people have drawn comparisons to were of Grande at a time in her life when she was relying on a lot of anti-depressants, she explained, and that she was actually eating poorly during that time.

“And I know I shouldn’t have to explain that, but I do feel like maybe having an openness or vulnerability, something good might come from it,” Grande expressed. “That’s the first thing, healthy can look different.”

“The second thing is you never know what someone is going through so even if you’re coming from a loving place or a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they’re working on it with. You never know, so be gentle with each other and yourselves.”

She ended her message by telling her fans that they’re beautiful regardless of what sort of phase they may be going through before urging her critics not to freak out that she was not wearing any eyeliner or lashes as she quipped she wouldn’t want people to start another rumor about her.
