Yikes! As reported by Vulture, “Everybody’s getting off the scooter,” as Ariana Grande follows Demi Lovato and parts ways with longtime manager Scooter Braun — all amid reports that Justin Bieber is also looking to leave his longtime manager.

Last Thursday (August 17), a report from Puck claimed that Bieber and Braun were breaking up. It was reported that the two haven’t been on speaking terms for several months, and now “lawyers are involved” in their dealings. Braun has been Bieber’s manger from the very beginning of his career, back when he discovered Bieber on YouTube in 2007. Bieber has been a part of Braun’s SB Projects firm since before its parent company Ithaca Holdings sold to South Korea’s HYBE in 2021, and then became its CEO.
Additionally, it was reported that Bieber is cleaning house, as he had also reportedly: fired his reps over at talent agency CAA; hired two new lawyers; and positioned Lou Taylor as his new business manager. However, despite all of these reports, reps for both Bieber and and Braun said the headlines were just “rumors” and “not true.”

Following the “rumors” of Bieber breaking up with Braun, on Monday afternoon (August 21), it was reported that songstress Demi Lovato had split with Braun and his management company SB Projects some time last month. It was further noted that the split was mutually agreed upon and amicable.
Lovato first signed with the management firm back in 2019, having been previously managed by Phil McIntyre of PhilyMack. A source close to Lovato and Braun’s partnership said it was time for her to seek new direction, but she was “thankful for her time with SB Projects.” As of last month, Lovato is said to be a free agent and conducting conversations with other prospects for management.
It’s also reported that amid the reports, Lovato is currently in the midst of a rerecording project, which will contain several of her past hits (“Heart Attack,” “Sorry Not Sorry,” “Cool For The Summer,” etc.) performed as Rock songs on a new album titled, ‘Demi Lovato: Revamped,’ due out on September 18.

Joining Demi Lovato is fellow songstress Ariana Grande. Hours after reports broke about Lovato leaving Scooter Braun amid reports of Justin Bieber wanting to part ways, reports confirmed Grande skedaddled too. However, it is unclear if she is cutting all business ties with Braun outside of management. Grande first signed with the music manager back in 2013.
Prior to Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande parting ways, Latin star J Balvin, who signed to Scooter Braun in 2019, recently exited back in May 2023, and is now being managed by Roc Nation. And before all of this year’s splits, Braun was ditched by Taylor Swift back in 2018. She left his other Ithaca Holdings leg, Big Machine Records, and signed with Republic Records and Universal Music Group. The two would go on to have a nasty battle over her masters.
Braun’s roster still officially includes longtime client Justin Bieber, plus Carly Rae Jepson, Tori Kelly, and more.
