Ari Lennox has revealed she will no longer be performing at shows that require her to fly, citing her mental health as her reason for the abrupt decision. In a revealing Instagram Story post, the “Pressure” singer-songwriter opened up to her fans and said that she had been left to battle her fear of flying for too long.

Moving forward, Ari says she is making her mental health her main priority, though it’s unclear whether she will also be looking to cancel her pre-arranged appearances, such as London’s Wireless Festival, which kicks off next month.

In her Instagram Story, she penned, “For my mental health and sanity, I will not be doing any shows that require me to fly. I can not keep torturing myself with this huge fear of mine. It is literally destroying my health. Enough is enough. I’m so sorry to all that are inconvenienced by this. Don’t know what this will mean for my career but I just can’t do it.”

She concluded by adding that if anyone knew of a great hypnotherapist who could help her tackle her fear of flying, she would want them to get in contact to see whether she could overcome her fright when it comes to air travel. “I would be so grateful,” the Washington DC native said. “I want to beat this.”

Her announcement comes just months after a statement confirmed Ari had officially parted ways with her management team at Black Wax after a decade-long relationship. It’s unclear what had led to both parties deciding to go their separate ways, but a rep affirmed that the move to split was amicable.

“Ari Lennox and her management team Black Wax amicably decided to part ways,” a rep said in a statement. “Lennox first signed with the company in 2012. She still considers them family and is beyond thankful for the business ventures and memories. She’s currently working on her sophomore album and is excited for the future endeavors that are in store for her.”

The 31-year-old has been busy working on her sophomore album these last couple of months, which she said in March was nearing its completion. In a tweet posted to her Twitter page, Ari told fans she was “seeking 3 more songs and then issa wrap,” as she confirmed that she plans to put out her follow-up to 2019’s “Shea Butter Baby” later this year.

It’s rumored that Ari has been working with a string of well-known producers and musicians for her sophomore project, including the likes of Missy Elliott, Jermaine Dupri, Babyface, and Bryan-Michael Cox, just to name a few.
