Get ready to see Jamie Lynn Spears move her happy feet as she’s gearing up to join the upcoming season of “Dancing With The Stars!”
The actress revealed the news on an episode of “Good Morning America” this Tuesday, telling everyone she will donate her weekly “DWTS” salary to SAG-AFTRA. “While everybody else in my community is on strike, I have this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work. So I figured I’ll do this and I will donate my weekly salary… to just give back to them at a time where they can’t give back to themselves,” she said.
As we previously reported, the WGA, SAG-AFTRA’s sister union, has been on strike since May 2 after failing to reach an agreement with AMPTP over their working conditions and compensation structure, along with threats to their jobs including AI, The Time notes.
While many people in the industry have joined the strike, so have other major celebrities including Miss Spears.

This latest strike marks the first time in 63 years that Hollywood writers and entertainers are striking at the same time.

While trying to stand in solidarity with writers and other actors, it’s been a pretty filled-up year for her.
The 32-year-old who is the younger sister of Britney Spears was part of the inaugural season of Fox’s survival series Special Forces earlier this year and even starred in Zoey 102, a movie sequel to her early 2000s Nickelodeon series Zoey 101 that premiered on Paramount+ back in July. In addition to all of that, she is also a regular on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias.
So is she ready to take on this new journey? Spears, told GMA this morning, “I don’t know if one can ever be 100% ready to take on something this big; I didn’t realize what a commitment it is, but it definitely is. I’m ready to challenge myself.”
Spears will be partnered with Alan Bersten, making them the first couple officially revealed for this upcoming season. While speaking with GMA, Spears said of Bersten, “He’s been wonderful,” Spears added. “My family got to meet him and he’s been great. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.”
The 29-year-old added, “We had our first rehearsal and it was great,” he said. “Jamie Lynn is so hard-working and so dedicated and it’s actually so much fun. We get along so well.”
Spears is ultimately thrilled to take on this new venture although she knows she’s in for a wild ride. “Typically I’d be working on different ventures but I think it’s just important that I have this opportunity,” Spears said. “And if I get up there and even if I embarrass myself, I’m doing it for a good reason and hopefully giving back to the community that’s literally given back to me since I was a little girl.”
Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars is set to premiere Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and will stream on Disney+ and Hulu.
