Netflix is going above and beyond after creating a new job listing in search of a flight attendant who they are willing to pay up to $385,000 a year. The post appeared on the official Netflix careers page earlier this week and states that the ideal candidate should possess “independent judgment, discretion, and outstanding customer service skills,” as well as being able to operate with very little direction “and a lot of self-motivation.”

The position will be based in San Jose, California, with the successful applicant expected to carry out the usual pre-flight cabin inspections and safety briefings. The only major difference is that the person who gets the job will not be performing their duties on just any plane; it’ll be on a Gulfstream G550 jet, meaning less people to attend to.

Now, for the most exciting part: salary. While Netflix did not offer a specific compensation package for the candidate who lands the job, the company mentions that — based on experience — the salary would be anywhere between $60,000 and $385,000. The role will require a lot of flexibility, such as working on holidays and flying on both domestic and international flights, with their final requirement being that those who are applying must also be able to carry items up to 30 pounds at a time.

It’s unclear as to who the potential flight attendant will be serving on the jet, but it’s assumed that the aircraft will be used for travel purposes for the higher-ups and other executives. The flight attendant may also be catering to actors who have certain deals in place with the company to offer them flight arrangements for traveling purposes ahead of a film premiere.

Netflix has over 25 offices worldwide, including London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Berlin.

Back in June, it was reported that the firm had fired a whopping 300 employees in multiple departments amid financial troubles due to a significant loss in its subscriber count. A few months prior, in April, Netflix had reportedly lost an estimated 200,000 subscribers for the first quarter of 2022, during which period it had predicted to gain 2.5 million new members.

By the end of the year, Netflix launched its latest subscription service, Basic with Ads, where customers could pay just $6.99 for a monthly membership, though they would have to sit through advertisements to make up for the decreased price.
