While speaking to the icon he shared what he thought of the show and how an audience can relate to it, comparing it to the high school experience, and message of holding your own.

“Has there ever been a moment in your life that you’ve experienced something similar or where you can relate to the show? I think that if you’ve been through high school, you will relate to the show because at the end of the day, we’ve all been in situations where we feel like we need to fit in or we want to fit in and we don’t know how, even though we just know that we don’t belong in that little club or in that little world. So, that’s why I always go back to high school because we struggle, you know, as adolescents, you know, we have the need to just be, even though we certainly know that we don’t belong there. So I think this is what this show is about.”

This show is about exposing your secrets and finding really who you are in order to be comfortable within your skin and understanding that the moment you start wearing a mask, nothing but pain will be the leading emotion or feeling in your life. And if we confront all those secrets and we expose them and we just are, life will be so much better.”
