Whew… it looks like Kanye West is back to dealing with some serious legal smoke right now.
According to reports, the rapper is being sued over an alleged incident that went down back in April 2024 at the iconic Chateau Marmont in Beverly Hills. If you know anything about that spot, you already know it’s where celebs go to lay low… not throw hands.
So here’s what’s being said. The unidentified man behind the lawsuit is accusing Ye of battery and infliction of emotional distress.
The man claims Ye punched him during an altercation at the hotel, not just once, either. According to the filing, the alleged punch “knocked him to the ground,” where he “hit his head and lost consciousness.” The lawsuit goes on to say Kanye then “repeatedly punched him as he lay unconscious on the ground.”
But there’s more to the story… The man also says this whole situation started because Ye accused him of acting inappropriately toward a woman in his circle. The plaintiff is denying all of that and says Kanye didn’t just accuse him in the moment, he allegedly took it public too.
In fact, the lawsuit claims, “[Kanye] repeated and embellished these lies during a widely viewed podcast appearance, exposing plaintiff to public scorn, suspicion and ridicule.”
As of now, Ye hasn’t said a word publicly about the lawsuit. No statement, no tweet, nothing. But let’s be real, his team probably has their hands FULL right now.
Clearly this year has already started out rough for Ye. On top of lawsuits, Ye was recently denied entry into the UK, and his scheduled festival appearance ended up getting scrapped. Whew!
