Angel Reese took the time to respond to a fan about her Instagram live that has made several rounds on social media.

As we previously shared, The professional women’s basketball player went live on Instagram on Tuesday, October 15, following her attendance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City. During the livestream, the 22-year-old forward for the Chicago Sky disclosed that she “wouldn’t even be able to survive” on her yearly basketball salary alone.

“I just hope you know the WNBA doesn’t pay my bills at all,” Reese said. “I don’t even think that pays one of my bills. Literally, I’m trying to think of my rent for where I stay at [in Chicago]. I’m gonna do the math real quick.”

After assessing her expenses, the Louisiana State University graduate pointed out that her rent amounts to $8,000 each month, leading Reese to joke and say, “I’m living beyond my means!”

“I wouldn’t even be able to get a sandwich if I wanted to,” she added. “I wouldn’t be able to eat. I wouldn’t be able to live.”

After that live surfaced on the internet and fans began to weigh in on her comments, Reese responded to a fan on X who reminded folks about her endorsements.

“Do y’all not see the collaborations and endorsements Angel has? I’m sure she doesn’t see that 8k leave her account,” the person said on X.

Angel then replied to the viral tweet and stated; “sister these folks don’t use common sense at all….”

In 2024, Reese inked a four-year contract with the Chicago Sky valued at $324,383. As reported by Spotrac, a sports financial tracking site, her projected annual salary for the upcoming WNBA season is $73,439.

However, similar to fellow WNBA sensation Caitlin Clark, Reese has the potential to earn more than $1 million through brand partnerships and endorsements. Last year, she secured a multi-year agreement with Reebok, allowing her to launch her own line of products known as “Angel’s Picks.”
