The draft was held in at the Brooklyn Academy of Music where fans gathered to celebrate the special moment. Reese was projected to be a top 10 pick and landed big accomplishment as the 7th pick. Reese accepted her Sky jersey alongside league commissioner Cathy Engelbert on stage.
Reese, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, began playing basketball at a young age and quickly showed promise as a standout player. As she progressed through middle school and high school, her skills continued to develop, and she quickly caught the attention of college scouts.
Standing at 6’3″ tall, Reese is a versatile player who can excel at multiple positions on the court. She has a strong presence in the paint, with the ability to score inside and grab rebounds with ease. Additionally, she has a smooth shooting touch from mid-range and beyond the arc, making her a threat from anywhere on the court.
Reese shocked the world when she led the lady Tigers to winning a national championship title last year. She and her team fought to make it back to the big stage again this year, but unfortunately they came up short with a loss to Iowa’s Caitlin Clark.
The former Iowa star also got drafted tonight as the number 1 overall pick in draft where she’s expected to have an amazing career.
