Ex-Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley revealed in his new memoir about why he and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are no longer speaking.

Page Six reports Andre Leon Talley described Anna Wintour as someone who was “not capable of human kindness” and replaced his role as editor-at-large because he was “too uncool, too overweight, and too uncool.” Talley,70, worked at the high fashion publication for decades and worked the red carpet for the Met Gala until 2018. Passages from his new memoir “The Chiffon Trenches” claims   Wintour ended their friendship so she could be close with A-list celebrities such as Serena Williams, George Clooney and his wife Amal, and Roger Federer

“After decades of loyalty and friendship. Anna should have had the decency and kindness to call me or send me an e-mail saying: ‘André, I think we have had a wonderful run with your interviews, but we are going to try something new.’ I would have accepted that … I understand; nothing lasts forever. Simple human kindness. No, she is not capable.”

The memoir, set to be released in September, further stated that Wintour only hangs out with people who will bring more attention to Vogue:

“She is immune to anyone other than the powerful and famous people who populate the pages of Vogue.”
