What Is Amber Heard’s Net Worth, And How Will She Make Money After Losing The Defamation Trial Against Johnny Depp?

Since their verdict was announced earlier this month, many are wondering how Amber Heard will make her money following comments made by her legal team saying she can’t afford to pay her ex-husband Johnny Depp $10.35 million in damages. Amber, who is believed to have had an estimated $4 million net worth before the defamation trial began in April, clearly doesn’t have the funds to pay the hefty sum to her former flame, so how exactly does she plan to not only pay him but also generate a steady income now that her reputation has been tarnished?

Is Amber Heard Still Being Hired For Movies?

During the trial, a Change.org petition was created to remove Amber from the upcoming second installment of Aquaman, which hits theaters next year. There were concerns that with how things were unfolding in court, Warner Bros. Pictures would consider the idea of axing the Texas native to avoid any negative press surrounding the movie once it nears its official release date.

And while Amber’s role as Mera was notably reduced to reportedly no more than 10 minutes of screen time, it’s been suggested that she still made a cool $2 million from the project, so fans can certainly expect to see her back in action in the sequel — she just won’t be in it for very long.

Aside from the superhero flick, the mother-of-one will also be starring in the upcoming thriller, “In The Fire,” which revolves around a New York doctor who travels to a remote plantation in the 1890s for a disturbed boy who seems to have inexplicable abilities.

Amber doesn’t have any other projects lined up outside of these two movies, and it’s unclear whether she will even find new roles to play considering she was harshly criticized by Johnny’s fans, who vehemently believed it was her who began the abuse in the ex-couple’s relationship.

The “Drive Angry” star has also shared a long-standing working relationship with L’Oreal, who appear to have stuck by her side despite the heavy amount of backlash from people who believe no company should be standing behind Amber, convinced that the 36-year-old had proven herself to be telling anything but the truth as she testified in court about the volatile romance she shared with Johnny.

It’s said that L’Oreal does not plan to terminate its contract with Amber despite the current circumstances.

How Much Is Amber Heard Worth?

Before she took to the court in April to face off against Johnny in the defamation trial, Amber was said to have accumulated a $4 million net worth.

Given the $10.35 million she owes to Johnny, while their reporting may not be precisely accurate, Celebrity Net Worth estimates Amber’s net worth to have dropped to a mearly -$6 million.

During her first televised interview after the verdict, Amber’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft said her client would “absolutely not” be able to pay her ex what he’s owed.

While speaking with the TODAY show, Elaine expressed, “We had even tried to get the UK judgment in to dismiss his case, because he already had his shot, and that’s one of the issues. But also a number of the evidentiary issues, there was so much evidence that did not come in.

“The court found there, and we weren’t allowed to tell the jury this, but the court found that Mr. Depp had committed at least 12 acts of domestic violence, including sexual violence, against Amber.”
