Johnny Depp gave a chilling recollection of events as he explained to a Virginia court how his finger had been partially cut off following an alleged domestic abuse incident with his ex-wife Amber Heard in 2015. The two are currently embroiled in an explosive trial after the Hollywood actor sued his former flame for a 2018 op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post — one year after their divorce — claiming she had been a victim of abuse in one of her former relationships, though she opted not to disclose who the man in question was.
During his appearance at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia on Wednesday, the 58-year-old, per Insider, said he had gotten into a verbal altercation with Amber back in March 2015 when she had flown out to Australia to visit him while Johnny was filming Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Amber allegedly threw a tantrum over concerns that she had not been placed in her ex-husband’s will, the jury heard, nor was she cooperative in the idea of signing a post-nuptial agreement.
The pair married in February 2015, but just weeks after tying the knot, Johnny described how things had turned violent, with most of their issues stemming from Amber’s refusal to sign the post-nuptial document. During the March altercation, the Aquaman actress was alleged to have gotten so angry that she hurled two bottles of vodka at her ex, with the second one slicing the top of Johnny’s finger off. He claimed to have endured such an enormous nervous breakdown that he began to write on the wall with his own blood.

“[Heard] threw the large bottle and it made contact and shattered everywhere,” he recalled. “I honestly didn’t feel the pain at all at first, I felt no pain whatsoever. What I felt was heat and I felt as if something was dripping down my hand. I looked down and realized that the tip of my finger had been severed and I was looking directly at my bone sticking out, and the meaty portion of the inside of your finger.”

Before meeting Amber, Johnny, a father-of-two, who shared a longtime relationship with the mother of his children, Vanessa Paradis, went on to share that blood was gushing profusely down his hand as he tried to make sense of what had just occurred.
He could no comprehend how her anger over the post-nuptial talk could result in her decision in wanting to physically harm the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. “Blood was just pouring out and… I don’t know what a nervous breakdown feels like, but that’s probably the closest I’ve ever been. Nothing made sense.”
Johnny said he told his team to put her on a flight back to Los Angeles because he no longer wanted to see her after the incident.
