The juror reportedly submitted false information to serve the high-profile trial.

Attorney Elaine Bredehoft wrote in her filing that Juror No.15 was not the person summoned for jury duty as the person called was born in 1945 and would’ve been 77 at the time of the trial, as reported by Insider. The individual who was wrongly summoned to serve at the problem was 52 years old, and both individuals have the same last name plus live at the same address in Fairfax County, Virginia.

“Juror No. 15 was not the individual summoned for jury duty on April 11, 2022, and therefore was not part of the jury panel and could not have properly served on the jury at this trial. Therefore, a mistrial should be declared and a new trial ordered.”

The juror reportedly submitted false information on the court’s questionnaire and used an incorrect birth date to be placed in the trial.

“It is deeply troubling for an individual not summoned for jury duty nonetheless to appear for jury duty and serve on a jury, especially in a case such as this. This was a high-profile case, where the fact and date of the jury trial were highly publicized prior to and after the issuance of the juror summonses.”

The filing comes after Amber Heard filed a motion on July 1 to overturn the verdict.

“The information on the jury panel list appears to be inconsistent with the identity and demographics of one of the Jurors. Juror No. 15 was apparently born in 1970, not 1945, as reported to and relied upon by the parties — including Ms. Heard — in selecting a jury panel.”

Heard’s legal team has maintained the theory that the jury was influenced by social media during the trial and was told not to look at any posts referring to it.

“They went home every night. They have families. The families are on social media. We had a 10-day break in the middle because of the judicial conference. There’s no way they couldn’t have been influenced by it,” she added. “And it was horrible. It was really, really lopsided.”

Amber Heard won one of the three counts as the judge granted her $2 million. However, she was ordered to pay Johnny Depp $10 million in damages. Heard reportedly can’t afford to pay him back the lump sum after the trial was finished. After the verdict, she said she was heartbroken by the outcome due to her ex-husband’s influence on the public.

“I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband. I’m even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”
