Amanda Seales, who is an actress and former host of the daytime talk show ‘The Real,’ is firing back at the program and its executives for snubbing her and excluding her in their farewell episode and promo. She says they can “Go duck themselves with a chainsaw.”
Amanda Seales Leaves ‘The Real‘
As a refresher, in 2019, Amanda served as a guest co-host several times after original panelist Tamar Braxton was fired in 2016, after serving for three seasons. In January 2020, Amanda officially joined the cast, which included co-hosts Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Adrienne Houghton.
In August 2020, Amanda decided not to renew her contract for another six months. While revealing why she left the show, Amanda said, “It felt like a betrayal to my people.”
In a video upon her exit, Amanda said, “I left The Real because it was breaking my spirit … I was being asked to not talk about certain things that felt like a betrayal to my people. And then on top of that, I didn’t want to be somewhere that I felt like people weren’t being honest with me and where people felt scared of me because of my Black woman-ess.”
Amanda went on to recall on e of her experiences on the show where she felt upset when a white female producer was assigned with helping her develop a ‘Smart, Funny and Black‘ segment for the show.
The segment is a game Amanda created which tests the knowledge of its contestants, seeing how well they know Black popular culture based on the show of the same name.
Amanda explained in her video, “I did a Smart, Funny and Black game on The Real and I was so excited to get to play my Smart, Funny and Black game on The Real.”
“They assigned it to the one white woman producer, but we have three Black women producers and one Black guy producer and I was like ‘Why are you producing this?’ and she was like, ‘So and so assigned it to me,’ and I said, ‘But why would you be producing this? You’re a white woman. You don’t understand what we’re going to be talking about.'”
“It’s like if we were doing a segment on the Sabbath dinner, [and] she was the one Jewish person on staff, she would be in charge of that segment because she has the most expertise on that. I couldn’t stay in a place like that.”

Amanda Seales Tells ‘The Real‘ To ‘Go Duck Themselves’ After Snubbing Her In Farewell Episode
In April 2022, it was learned that ‘The Real‘ was being cancelled after eight seasons on air. So during their farewell promo, released this week, photos of all the hosts, including Tamar Braxton and latest co-host Garcelle Beauvais, were shown except for Amanda’s. So rightfully, she took to Twitter and fired back after the snubbing.
Amanda reposted a fan who shared a thumbnail of the farewell episode and captioned the post, “Did @ amandaseales ask to be left out of the thumbnail? Was her contribution not appreciated?”
Amanda quote retweeted, “Sure didn’t. But they can absolutely go duck themselves with a chainsaw for doing so. 😊.”
Then, taking to her Instagram, Amanda uploaded a video with a screenshot of the farewell episode cover art. She said, “So apparently, ‘The Real,’ in their finale episode, did promo. I am not featured in this thumbnail, and I am not featured in the farewell episode apparently. I’ll have some things to say about that.”
After a few chuckles, Amanda quoted R&B singer K. Michelle and said, “Whew child. I must really be out here, just shaking the table.”
Captioning the Instagram post, Amanda simply wrote, “Rude.” Meanwhile, in the comments, Amanda let her voice be further heard. As Holly R. Peete wrote, “I know the feeling,” Amanda fired back, “@ hollyrpeete these messy folks ain’t on our level, HP!”
